The EU study development programme

ERASMUS+ is the EU programme for the areas of education, youth and sport. For the period of 2014-2020, mobility and cross-border cooperation is being promoted.

As part of this programme, VMI students can study at one of our partner institutes for 3 to 12 months. Similarly, vocational training programmes for VMI tutors and administrative staff in partner countries are facilitated.

The Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) awarded by the European Union confirms that the VMI-Vienna Music Institute fulfils all the requirements for successful participation in an ERASMUS programme.

Outgoing - Study abroad

Why study abroad?

Staying abroad is a special experience that both expands horizons and personally enriches. Studying at one of our partner institutes is a wonderful opportunity to develop yourself musically, gain insight into that particular music and culture industry, and build up an international network. Alongside the exchange of culture and experience, as well as the deepening of language skills, a semester abroad in particular promotes intercultural and social competencies.

VMI students who are interested in an ERASMUS semester abroad can apply at the beginning of 2017 for a place in the study year 2017/18.

For further information, please contact our International Office.
