About A.Fruit

A.Fruit is a Barcelona-based multi-genre music producer, sound designer, DJ, educator and mixing and mastering engineer. Working across a variety of genres, mainly within the world of bass music, her sound moves between atmospheric textures and dancefloor-heavy productions, drawing inspiration from UK soundsystem culture, Chicago footwork, cinematic music and experimental sound design.

Her music has been released on labels including YUKU, Cosmic Bridge, Med School, Teklife and many others. Alongside her artistic practice, Anna has composed soundtracks for video games and commercial projects, developed synthesizer presets and sample packs, and worked across a wide range of music production and audio projects.

Her approach combines creative experimentation with a hands-on understanding of synthesis and electronic music production. Through her workshops, she shares insights into her artistic processes and workflows, creative approaches to sound and the possibilities of modern synthesis.

Bass Music Production Masterclass - Outline

  • Introduction & Creative Journey: My background, professional journey, the reasons I became a music producer and sound designer, and how I find inspiration through music technology and experimentation.

  • Bass Design: Exploring different types of bass sounds and building simple bass patches from scratch using Ableton Live’s Operator. Moving on to complex bass sound design in Serum 2, with a focus on Audio Rate Panning Modulation, including live demonstrations of my own techniques and presets I've created.

  • Quick Drums: Efficient drum production workflows using Ableton Racks and/or Native Instruments Kontakt libraries, exploring the Amen Break processing with free Max for Live tools.

  • Melody & Atmosphere: Building mood and depth through melodic elements, atmospheric textures.

  • Sound Effects & Automation: Using smartphone recordings as creative source material, processing sounds in Ableton Live and exploring automation. This may include an interactive group experiment transforming a collective vocal recording into sound effects.

  • Arrangement & Finishing a Track: Developing a loop into a complete composition through layering, variation, transitions and changes in energy. Talking about the tips I use to finish my tracks.
